Gary Neville names the Chelsea player that Marina Granovskaia will make transfer decision on

Gary Neville has picked out one player he believes Frank Lampard has already decided to sell as he aims to put his stamp on Chelsea.

The Blues continued their push for Champions League football next season as they beat Crystal Palace in a thrilling 3-2 win at Selhurst Park.

The victory, coupled with Leicester City’s draw at Arsenal, means Lampard’s men overtook the Foxes in the Premier League table, and now sit third with just four games remaining.

One of the decisions made by Lampard in his starting line-up on Tuesday garnered plenty of interest as he opted to start Billy Gilmour in the absence of N’Golo Kante, rather than Jorginho.

The Italy international would come off the bench late on for his first appearance since the Premier League’s return, but Neville feels the writing is on the wall for the midfielder.

Why Frank Lampard started Billy Gilmour over Jorginho

“You have to think that he (Jorginho) is being managed out of Stamford Bridge,” Neville told Sky Sports.

“I think it’s been clear from the moment Frank Lampard came in that he wants to build a young and hungry squad.

“Look at the way David Luiz was let go.

“With the way Jorginho has been dealt with, it’s quite clear where Lampard wants to take the team.

“When you think of Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp over the last few years, they don’t veer away from the plan for any player.

“Frank Lampard has got a clear plan.”

The former Manchester United captain also passed on some advice to Lampard ahead of this summer’s transfer window, which is set to open upon the conclusion of the league season.

He added: “That's the thing about this Chelsea team, it's a good team, it's promising, they've got lots of talent, but to get where they need to be or want to be in terms of winning a Premier League title, they just have to become a little bit more robust.

“They're still a little bit soft-centred. It's acceptable I think with the journey they're on and a lot of young players.”
