Gary Neville names key Rodrigo attribute ahead of Leeds United transfer as Batshuayi analysed

Here is your Leeds United digest for Friday, August 28.

Klich on Premier League preparations

Marcelo Bielsa appears to have stepped his punishing pre-season regime up a level as Leeds United prepare for their return to the Premier League.

Bielsa's pre-season sessions are the stuff of legend as he pushes his players to the edge in the pursuit of fitness and quality.

Yet this year, he has stepped it up, according to Mateusz Klich.

Premier League new season in numbers

"I think this one is the most intense and the hardest one yet," the Pole said.

"Obviously we didn't have much holidays but to be fair I couldn't wait to start next season so I don't really want to have more holidays."

Neville highlights key Rodrigo attribute

Leeds United fans should be excited about what Gary Neville has said about Rodrigo.

The Sky Sports pundit had a notoriously short stint as manager of Valencia during the 2015/16 season.

Yet he was in Spain for long enough to recognise the qualities of the striker, who is set to seal a move to Elland Road imminently.

“I am very impressed with him,” Neville told El Mundo in January 2016. “Since he returned from Christmas he has trained fantastically well. He had a very good impact in the Real Madrid game. I believe in him a lot, I have a lot of faith.”

Batshuayi analysed

Michy Batshuayi is the latest player to be linked with Leeds United.

The Belgian striker would provide Premier League experience to the Whites' squad and Chelsea are reportedly prepared to let him go.

So how would he fit in at Elland Road?

Since joining the Blues in 2016, he has played less than 3,000 league minutes and has been short of regular football even when sent out on loan.

Yet across that period, he has averaged over 3.5 shots per game, which is a decent stat.
