Gary Neville names his favourite Manchester United goal that still gives him goosebumps

Former Manchester United captain Gary Neville witnessed some great goals throughout his United career.

From Wayne Rooney's infamous volley against Newcastle United in 2005 to Cristiano Ronaldo's stunning free-kick against Portsmouth at Old Trafford in 2008, Neville saw some stunning strikes during his United career.

But it is Ryan Giggs' famous solo goal against Arsenal in the FA Cup semi-final in 1999 that remains fondest in Neville's mind.

The game was in extra-time, United were down to 10 men and Sir Alex Ferguson's hopes of leading his side to a famous treble were hanging in the balance.

But Giggs decided to take matters into his own hands, rifling a shot beyond Gunners 'keeper David Seaman at the end of a long run, in which he left most of Arsenal's players dead on their feet.

"Do you know something? The David Beckham one from the halfway line was an unbelievable goal," Neville told OBI Property.

"The Cristiano header at Roma away is one of the best things I’ve ever seen. The leap from the edge of the box and heading it on the penalty spot.

"I think the Giggsy goal, though, in that semi-final is probably the one that to this day still gives me goosebumps. That goal in that match."

After overcoming Arsenal in the semi-final replay, United, would, of course, go onto lift the FA Cup at Wembley, beating Newcastle United 2-0 thanks to goals from Teddy Sheringham and Paul Scholes.
