Gary Neville makes two-year Manchester United Premier League prediction

Former Manchester United star Gary Neville believes it will be impossible for his former club to win the Premier League in the next two years.

The Reds have endured a tough couple of seasons at Old Trafford, with their failure to qualify for this season's Champions League the latest set-back in a long list since the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson back in 2013.

United already appear to be building for this season, with Daniel James, one of the rising stars of last season's Championship, already signed from Swansea City, and the club have also been linked with a host of young British players including Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

But Neville, who made 400 appearances in a 20-year spell at the Theatre of Dreams, believes there must be a "a lot of change" at the club before they are ready to challenge for major honours again.

"There has to be a lot of change here. With the exchange of some players it is not done," the former England full-back told German publication Bild .

"It will not be possible for United to become a champion for the next two years."
