Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville has slammed the club's lack of a transfer plan this summer, making a Liverpool comparison in the process.
United lost their opening match of the season 3-1 to Crystal Palace and have been quiet in the market so far this summer, with the only major piece of business being the capture of Donny Van de Beek from Ajax.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side have spent the majority of the past few months trying to lure Jadon Sancho to Old Trafford but Borussia Dortmund are standing firm on their stance.
Liverpool's slow start to the market burst into life over the weekend, when the Premier League champions finally made their move for Thiago Alcantara, as well as bringing in Diogo Jota from Wolves for £45m. The two signings join Greek left-back Kostas Tsimikas at Anfield.
That has frustrated United legend Neville, who has slammed his former side for their lack of movement and has compared the situation to that of Liverpool 's.

"They try to now go the other way and not overspending. You see Liverpool getting a player for £40 million and £25 million. Timo Werner for Chelsea, for instance, is quite cheap when you look at the market and some of the prices out there," he said on the Gary Neville podcast.
"There is no excuse for getting your deals done sort of towards the start of the season. They needed four or five players. I know Liverpool only got theirs done in the last couple of days, but there is a feeling they are in control.
"It's easier when they are champions but Manchester United have the money. They haven't got people with the right experience in the club. I'm not sure where the decisions lie.
"Liverpool and Chelsea are definitive and precise, same with Man City. United's recruitment has been better in the last 18 months but there are still issues with them not being able to get deals over the line quick enough.
"What yesterday will do as well is making United weaker. Clubs will be expecting United to knock on their door. That's the problem that United have got. They have not got the authority and control in the transfer market.
