Gary Neville makes bold Liverpool title prediction with Jamie Carragher jibe

Gary Neville has delivered his verdict on Liverpool’s title hopes and also poked fun at Jamie Carragher during a Q&A session on Twitter.

The ex-Manchester United full-back fielded a range of questions from football fans on social media, which led to him sharing his thoughts on the Reds.

After the weekend’s results, Neville had admitted that he doesn’t believe his former team will challenge for the title and suggested that Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea consistently produce better team performances.

Asked by one Reds fan where he thought the club would finish this season, he responded, before commenting on his friendship with Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher .

Neville revealed that he believes Jurgen Klopp’s side will finish 3rd or 4th, suggesting Chelsea and Manchester City will battle it out for the title.

Liverpool currently sit one point clear at the top of the league, following defeats for Chelsea and Manchester United, leaving the Reds as the only remaining unbeaten side in the Premier League.

Moments later, the former England international responded to a question asking, “Is James Carragher your mate or does he irritate you?”, to which Neville replied: “Both.”

Carragher then reacted by criticising his Sky Sports colleague's preferred Manchester United lineup: “So is Pogba not a left winger anymore? The right winger [Sancho] you said the club were desperate for doesn’t play & you’ve got Ronaldo wide.

"Ossie Ardiles wouldn’t pick that team.”

The disagreement ended with Neville tweeting: “Just having a bit of fun with the fans James.”
