Gary Neville make huge Liverpool title claim after Kevin De Bruyne suffers injury

Gary Neville reckons Kevin De Bruyne's injury could spur Liverpool on to beat Manchester City to the title this season.

Pep Guardiola's Citizens climbed back to the top of the table on Saturday with a win over Tottenham at the Etihad.

There are just four matches left to play and a single point in it at the top, with Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool doing everything they can to keep pace with Manchester City.

Guardiola was delighted to take all three points from the clash against Spurs this weekend, after the north London team knocked City out of the Champions League last Wednesday.

But he will be disappointed to have lost De Bruyne to injury, with the Belgium international being forced off with yet another issue this season.

Neville was providing commentary on the match for Sky Sports, and explained how important De Bruyne is to everything positive Manchester City do.

He will undoubtedly be a big miss for the Citizens - so much so that Neville believes his absence could determine who wins the title.

Pep Guardiola declares this Liverpool team as the best Reds side EVER

"With these two teams going for the title you are looking at fine margins," said Neville. "The injury might just lift Liverpool a little bit with De Bruyne going off.

"When De Bruyne went off I did wonder whether David Silva would come on."
