Gary Neville labels David de Gea "really poor" as he fluffs his lines vs Tottenham

Manchester United legend Gary Neville says David de Gea will be "extremely disappointed" with himself for failing to keep out Steven Bergwijn's effort.

The Red Devils goalkeeper got a hand to the powerful effort in his side's Premier League clash with Tottenham in north London on Friday night.

But Spain international De Gea was unable to turn the ball around the post, with the shot instead hitting the back of the net and opening the scoring for Spurs.

"I think David de Gea will be extremely disappointed. He's got to save that," said Neville, while providing commentary on Sky Sports.

"Bergwjin does really well. He's got past Harry Maguire.

"He's got the legs on him and he gets past him easily. But that shot is really close to De Gea. That's really poor from the goalkeeper. Really poor.

"It's fine margins. Hugo Lloris made a key save from Rashford at one end. De Gea has let one slip at the other."

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Manchester United were looking bright before the goal, but Spurs have continually got the better of the Red Devils' defence on the break.

Bergwijn has been played through more than once, and has been afforded far too much space on the right, while Son Heung-min was also allowed to get a shot away.
