Gary Neville issues scathing verdict on Stan and Josh Kroenke's leadership at Arsenal

Gary Neville has admitted he is unsure what Stan and Josh Kroenke's long-term plan is as owners of Arsenal and expressed his disappointment about how they are running the club.

The Kroenke family are somewhat controversial among the Gunners fan base, with the recent European Super League controversy not helping raise their popularity in north London.

Daniel Ek expressed an interest in buying the club earlier this year and the Spotify CEO has seen two offers rebuffed by Stan Kroenke, but the general hope from fans is that the Swedish billionaire will return with a third bid to take over the ownership.

Now, Neville, when speaking on Sky Sports before Arsenal's clash with Aston Villa on Friday evening, has admitted he is disappointed with how the club is being run.

"There isn’t enough communication between them and the fans at all and they’re left to wonder sometimes what the project is, what the real long-term plan is," the former Manchester United defender said.

"I feel that’s really poor. Ultimately, there isn’t that direction publicly from Arsenal.

"I’ve never heard from Kroenke. I just feel that’s something that fans are always searching for, wanting more and they’re not getting it. That’s disappointing."

Former Arsenal defender Nigel Winterburn recently claimed that he cannot see the Kroenkes selling the north London club in the near future unless a "ridiculous offer" comes their way.

Speaking to FreeSuperTips, the former Arsenal man said: "Well potentially there's financial fair play and there's been a ban put on about sponsoring your own team basically as I understand.

"In all honesty, I don't see our owners selling up unless they get some ridiculous offer, and it makes sense to sell.

"I don't see them moving on and they aren't going to sell at market value, it would be in excess of that value.

"We know that there are names interested, and companies interested but are they willing to pay more than the market value which would be considerably more?

"I don't think the Kroenkes will be selling anytime soon."

The vast majority of Arsenal supporters will be hoping that Winterburn's verdict is not true, with Ek already seemingly a popular figure among the fan base.
