Gary Neville has identified three subtle differences between Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood.
Both players have progressed as strikers through Manchester United's youth system, with Rashford ahead of Greenwood in the pecking order due to his age.
Neville is a fan of both players, and says he believes Greenwood to be the "real thing".
"I think Mason Greenwood is an outstanding player and the equal of Rashford at his age," said Neville on Sky Sports.
"In some ways more composed, a little bit more classy, less raw.
"He looks well above his age group in terms of the composure he's demonstrated and temperament. I think Man United have got a real star there.
"We have been wrong before. We talk about Janusaj, we thought he was going to be world class and he fell away. But there's just something about Greenwood that makes me feel like he's the real thing."
Neville is pleased United are producing talent as he predicts clubs will increasingly rely on their academies due to the financial implications of the coronavirus pandemic.
"I think that youth systems and academies and producing your own players in the next two or three years is going to be the lifeblood of clubs," added Neville.
"This is a really difficult time for players at all levels. But there's a massive opportunity for young players with ability to be driven into the first team."
