Gary Neville gives staff power over working from home after new Covid rules announced

Gary Neville has given his employees the choice of whether to work from home after the Government announced new Covid-19 restrictions this week.

The former Manchester United and England star said the decision "must be an individual choice" and that he trusts his staff "implicitly".

In a message to his employees, he added that "at no point" must they feel pressured to come into work or stay at home.

Gary Neville is involved in a wide range of businesses in Greater Manchester, including owning and running Relentless Group.

He is also a co-owner in the Stock Exchange Hotel in the city centre and Hotel Football next to Manchester United's Old Trafford stadium.

He also co-owns UA92 and Salford City with other members of the so-called Class of '92 including Ryan Giggs, Nicky Butt and Paul Scholes.

Mr Neville has been a director of GC Hospitality since 2012 and is also a co-founder of Foundation 92.

He has also co-owned Buzz 16 since the start of 2016.

In a statement, he told employees: "The policy in all businesses will be that offices will remain open and conditions will remain the same as they have over the last few months.

"I would, however, ask that each team member make their own individual decision on whether they come into the office or work from home.

"I trust you all implicitly to make the best decision based on yourselves, your families and your colleagues.

"I have made my own stance clear however I must emphasis that this is an individual choice and at no point must you feel the pressure to come in or stay at home."
