Gary Neville gives his Claudio Bravo verdict on Fabinho's strike against Man City for Liverpool

Gary Neville has placed the blame at Claudio Bravo's goal for Liverpool's opening goal against Manchester City .

City went behind against the run of players after Fabinho controversially fired Jurgen Klopp's side in front.

Sergio Aguero led the City protests moments before the opening strike after he felt Trent Alexander-Arnold had handled the ball in the area, only for Michael Oliver and VAR to wave away his claims.

Liverpool broke and after Ilkay Gundogan's rushed clearance only reached the edge of the area, Fabinho let leash from 25 yards to send them in front.

However, Neville believes that it was a shot that Bravo should have saved and that had a 'top' goalkeeper been in goal, they would have.

Of course, Bravo was named between the sticks after Ederson was ruled out of the clash after sustaining an injury during City's Champions League clash with Atalanta on Wednesday night.

The Brazilian joined Aymeric Laporte and Leroy Sane on the injury list, whilst David Silva as only fit enough for a place on the bench.

"I am harsh on goalkeepers but I don't think that should go in," Neville said on commentary duty for Sky Sports.

"It's a great strike but a top goalkeeper saves it. It's poor from Bravo but it's a fantastic strike from Fabinho."
