Gary Neville gives damning verdict on 'leaked' Manchester United new kit

Gary Neville has offered a damning verdict on Manchester United's potential new home kit for next season.

Images have been circulating on social media showing what appears to be United's home shirt for the 2021/22 campaign, featuring new sponsor Team Viewer, which replaces Chevrolet. The German-based technology company have agreed a £235million deal with United to sponsor the club's shirts until 2026.

And Neville clearly isn't a fan, condemning the kit as "basic" and claiming it doesn't relate to the club's history or heritage.

Taking to Twitter while posting an image of the shirt, the former United right-back said: "I tend to love every United home kit but I don’t like this one at all! (if it is the home kit).

"Am I being harsh? Sponsor isn’t right, arms aren’t right and just feels basic without tapping into heritage. Agree or not[?]"

Many United fans agreed with Neville, though others have expressed a fondness for the new strip. United look set to release the official jersey in July, ahead of the new Premier League season, which is set to get underway on August 14th.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side begin their campaign with a home clash against fierce rivals Leeds United.

The Norwegian will be hoping his team can build on a promising season in the league last term, when they finished second, 12 points off champions City.
