Gary Neville gaffe leaves Jamie Carragher in hysterics on Monday Night Football

Gary Neville's gaffe on live TV left Jamie Carragher in hysterics on Monday Night Football.

It came after Fulham's relegation from the Premier League following a 2-0 loss to Burnley at Craven Cottage.

Scott Parker's men are the final side to drop out of the top-tier, joining West Brom in failing to stay up over the weekend.

They will return to the Championship after just one year in the Premier League, while Sheffield United will also be joining them after being relegated last month.

It was a poor display from the Cottagers on their last chance to maybe stay in the top division but the damage had surely been done with a late revival in form from Newcastle.

And during his analysis of where it wrong, Neville had a major slip-up - which delighted his Sky Sports counterpart Carragher.

The Manchester United legend said on Monday Night Football: "“I don’t know this but if you look at the goals conceded from corners and gaining points from behind, I think if you want to demonstrate a team that lacks that toughness.

“They concede from set-pieces…”

It was at this point that the host Dave Jones interjected, telling Neville that they had only conceded three from corners.

That ranks them at the best side in the Premier League for that stat, with no other team conceding less than them this season.

“Oh, they’re the best at set-pieces! Sorry.”

And that caused Carragher to break into fits of laughter, with Neville adding: “That is unbelievable! Well done Scott [Parker]!”

The Salford City owner continued but it could not stop his Liverpudlian pal from giggling in the corner.

As well as deciphering where it wrong for Fulham - and Neville - the two also gave their Premier League team of the years, agreeing on just six players.
