Gary Neville admits Manchester United's chances of winning the Premier League are "slim" - but claims Paul Pogba is the man who could fire them to glory.
United remain three points clear of champions Liverpool after they drew 0-0 at Anfield on Sunday.
But their lead at the top was cut to two points due to Leicester's 2-0 victory over Southampton and Manchester City's emphatic 4-0 win against Crystal Palace.
With the chasing pack bearing down on his side, Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said he was disappointed not to come away from Liverpool with thee points after the match.
Neville believes it is only a matter of time before United are knocked off top spot - unless Pogba can produce match-winning moments of magic in the second half of the season.
"I think Manchester United ’s chances of winning this league are slim - Liverpool and Man City are still the best two teams in this league," the former United defender told his Sky Sports podcast .
"But the slim chance they have to win this league will depend on something like Paul Pogba delivering a cameo of two or three months of brilliance, which he is capable of.
"He’s got confidence, he’s got arrogance – good arrogance, in a sense that he believes in himself.
"He thinks he should be playing in the biggest games in the world, and winning titles, and thinking positive thoughts, thinking you’re the best is a big thing when you’re looking to win.
"Just in that last 20 minutes, I felt United just had that little bit of missing belief. It’s not a long way away, but that’s the bit that will stop them winning the title."
Against Liverpool, Pogba had a golden opportunity to break the deadlock with minutes remaining but fired straight at Alisson from close range.
The midfielder remains destined to leave Old Trafford at the end of the season after his agent, Mino Raiola, claimed he is "unhappy" and wants a new challenge.
