Chelsea look set to have a surprise supporter on Sunday as Gary Neville throws his support behind the Blues.
The former Manchester United man says that he's backing Frank Lampard's side to get a result against Liverpool when the pair meet at Stamford Bridge.
However, Neville's allegiance is nothing to do with his love for the west London club, and is actually more about his want for a more competitive title race.
Speaking to Sky Sports, the pundit says that he hopes that Chelsea can get a result to set a precedent of clubs taking points from Manchester City and Liverpool over the course of the season.
He said: “Sunday’s a big game. The last two years have been unique as title winning seasons. Man City have been incredible and Liverpool have been playing title-winning football for 18 months.
It’d be nice to see them drop points; not just for personal reasons but it’s nice to see Liverpool drop points, City to drop points to make it more of a dramatic season.
“I loved last season and the quality of it, but it’s nice to see a dramatic season where teams can pull points of each other. That’s what made the Premier League famous all around the world.”
