Gary Neville discusses Alexis Sanchez's Manchester United 'mystery' and makes prediction

Manchester United legend Gary Neville has admitted he has been left baffled by Alexis Sanchez’s poor form at Manchester United.

The Chile international has failed to replicate the heights he showed during his time with Arsenal since moving to Old Trafford in January 2018 and there are plenty of question marks surrounding his future.

With a number of injury problems, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has handed a rare opportunity to the two-time Copa America winner for United ’s trip to face already relegated Huddersfield Town in the penultimate game of the season.

The stage is set for Sanchez to play a significant part, as United need a victory against the Terriers to retain any hope of Champions League football next season, but Neville thinks he could be on the way out this summer.

“It’s an absolute mystery. I don’t anybody who can put sort of science or sense behind what has happened to him,” he told Sky Sports.

“It’s as if one of the most tenacious football players you’ll ever see, with or without the ball, has just lost absolutely everything from confidence to his energy, to his dribbling to his goals, there’s nothing left in Alexis Sanchez at all.

“Everybody’s still waiting for him to turn up. There is an imminent decision to be made on some of the players at United and he will be one of them.”
