Gary Neville details Man Utd compromise Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes must make

Gary Neville says Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba must compromise if they are to be a joint success at Man Utd.

Pogba is set for his return to the United side when the football season resumes, though his absence has left less of a hole since Fernandes' arrival in January.

United fans are excited at the prospect of both players forming a partnership in the centre of the Red Devils' midfield, though there are still question marks over how influential they can be together.

Asked during a fan Q&A on Twitter what United could achieve with the two stars in the team, Neville said: "They could be amazing together if they compromise and work to help each other."

Neville was then quizzed on which player in United's current side would have the best chance of one day winning the Ballon d'Or.

"Paul Pogba most likely," he replied.

The Frenchman has been edging towards the United exit over the course of the season, during which he has managed just eight appearances due to injury problems.

But the economic impact of the coronavirus crisis looks set to play havoc with the transfer market this summer and severely hamper the spending of most clubs, including those at elite level.

And Neville feels that Pogba may now have to reconsider his options as a result.

He reasoned with Sky Sports: "I just wonder now what's happened, which clubs are really going to be able to buy Paul Pogba for the reputed £80-100 million pounds that was being talked about? Which clubs are going to pay the huge wages Paul Pogba's on at  Manchester United?

"So Paul Pogba may have to, may want to, sit at Man Utd now for the next 12- 18 months, and look at the fact that he's got a club he can play at with a core group of players who are a really good age."
