Gary Neville thinks Ed Woodward won't sack Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Manchester United.
United have struggled for form this season and the recent 2-0 reverse to Man City and the 5-0 defeat against Liverpool have been seriously low points this term.
Solskjaer survived to remain in charge of United after the Liverpool debacle, however, despite United appearing seemingly improved against Tottenham and Atalanta, they looked inferior in all areas of the pitch in Saturday's 2-0 defeat to City.
There have been unprecedented calls for Solskjaer to be sacked in recent weeks but Neville thinks the United boss is safe because of the internal workings of the club.
United announced in April that executive vice-chairman Woodward would leave the club at the end of the calendar year.
That decision was seismic, especially because Woodward tendered his resignation amid backlash from the Super League proposal.
That means Woodward is supposed to be in the final weeks of his United career and Neville thinks that is significant.
"The situation at United is made more complicated with Ed Woodward leaving in weeks," Neville wrote
"Gave Ole Gunnar Solskjaer a 3-year contract months ago and he won’t want his final act to be sacking a manager.
"However, he knows an incoming CEO could throw him overboard by doing just that and blaming him."
