Gary Neville defends his support for Solskjaer as he shares Manchester United fan's tweet

Gary Neville has spent his Sunday afternoon defending his support of former team-mate and current Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer .

It all started with Jamie Carragher's reaction to Arsenal's retaken penalty at Norwich City before Neville accused the former Liverpool star of not having a consistent opinion on VAR, before Carragher hit back and said the same about Neville's view on key Premier League topics.

The enemies on the field have now become friends in the studio for Sky Sports but with Neville earning a break today for Super Sunday, he used his Twitter account to fire back over a number of issues.

The biggest issue from a United perspective was his verdict that Solskjaer requires 'three or four more transfer windows' to sort out his United squad.

Solskjaer enjoyed a strong start as the caretaker boss after taking over from Jose Mourinho last December but has since endured a rough time.

United continue to provide inconsistent displays this season as they sit ninth in the Premier League table after a 2-2 draw at home to Aston Villa, something which also leaves them 22 points behind league leaders Liverpool.

But Neville insists that Solskjaer needs time to turn around the club's fortunes and he was quick to defend his opinion on social media when one fan countered it, while he also shared another fan's tweet backing Solskjaer.

Here is the best of the debate from Neville's Twitter account this evening.
