Gary Neville criticises Manchester United players and explains why his blood is boiling

Manchester United enjoyed a remarkable turnaround in fortunes after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took over on a caretaker basis when Jose Mourinho was sacked in December.

There were the impressive wins over the likes of Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League and the outstanding comeback victory in the Champions League at Paris Saint-Germain.

The euphoria got to the point where Man Utd could only hand Solskjaer the job and do nothing else, with the Norwegian subsequently landing the permanent role in late March.

But just before that point the club's form started to unravel and now they face an uphill battle to make the Premier League top four.

Ahead of the Everton clash, former United star Gary Neville opened up on the club's struggles and explained why his 'blood is boiling'.

"I am simmering and my blood is about to boil," Neville told Sky Sports. "What Ole talked about on Friday was a reality check. I watched the game at Barcelona and the players were pretending to walk back. It's rubbish."

Neville added that there are serious issues at the Red Devils when it comes to contracts not signed and whilst he has individuals in mind who he would be minded to criticise, the former defender insists that he will wait until the end of the a tough run to make his final assessment of where the club is at.

"There is a lot of distraction in regards to contracts. I will keep my counsel around individuals at the minute," Neville added.

"Next Sunday is the time to reflect. They'll know then if they can reach the Champions League. We know what's going on. It's another week before we let it go with United."
