Gary Neville compares Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Thierry Henry after goal against Everton

Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville has compared Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Gunners and France legend Thierry Henry after he netted his 18th goal of the season against Everton in this afternoon's clash at the Emirates Stadium.

Having fallen behind to Dominic Calvert-Lewin's first-minute opener, the Gunners completed the turnaround when Aubameyang latched onto an excellent threaded through-ball from centre-back David Luiz.

The Gunners skipper showed tremendous composure to bury his shot out of the reach of Toffees goalkeeper Jordan Pickford before wheeling away to celebrate.

The finish earned Aubameyang the ultimate compliment in terms of being compared to great strikers of the past, with Neville, who is co-commentating on the game, comparing it to a finish of Henry, who scored over 150 goals for the Gunners.

Neville told Sky Sports: "That pass has happened a couple of times. [Djibril] Sidibe is getting caught on a high-line, on that far-side, and that Everton back-line is being a little bit too generous to Arsenal and Aubameyang... this is Thierry Henry, everything about it.

"As he went though on goal he just imagined the great French striker in that channel, opening out his body, setting it inside that far post and leaving the goalkeeper with no chance.

"It is Aubameyang. Wondeful."

The game is currently at the halfway stage, with Richarlison having brought Everton level to make it 2-2 right on the stroke of half time.
