Gary Neville blasts Everton in extraordinary Twitter rant to a supporter after Arsenal's win

Gary Neville has blasted Everton's record against the top six clubs after the Toffees were beaten 3-2 by Arsenal at the Emirates on Sunday.

Goals from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Eddie Nketiah secured all three points for Mikel Arteta's side after Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison had given Carlo Ancelotti's side hope of a first away win at Arsenal for 24 years.

After the game, former Everton captain Kevin Ratcliffe took to social media to criticise Neville, who was on co-commentary duty for Sky Sports, by tweeting: 'Why is @GNev2 so negative towards @Everton!'

An Everton fan replied: 'I think he is just negative person. Just think every day he must wake up everyday and think im a multi millionaire “what can i moan about today” Kevin. The blokes just a moaner mate.'

Responding to the supporter, Neville then hit back with: 'I mean you haven’t won at arsenal for 24 years, you are crap in big matches (and I actually don’t want you to be) , your team shrink in nearly every big game I see and you ask me to talk you up!!'

Everton's last win away to the Gunners came in 1996 thanks to goals from Graham Stuart and Andrei Kanchleskis to cancel out an opener from Ian Wright.

Defeat on Sunday leaves Ancelotti's side 11th in the Premier League table and five points behind Manchester United in fifth - who are the Blues' next opponents.

Arsenal, meanwhile, move to ninth in the table and sit seven points outside the top four.
