Gary Neville knows all about playing right-back for Manchester United at Anfield - and he was less than impressed with Aaron Wan-Bissaka's display in Sunday's clash.
United were beaten 2-0 on Merseyside to leave them a huge 30 points behind their fiercest rivals and runaway Premier League leaders.
Wan-Bissaka endured a particularly difficult afternoon, and Neville said the former Crystal Palace defender looked like he was 'on the waltzers'.
"Wan-Bissaka has had a good introduction at Manchester United," said the Red Devils legend on commentary. "But I remember I had a couple of games here [at Anfield] as a right-back where I thought it was a different level.
"I used to play against Arsenal with [Ashley] Cole, [Thierry] Henry and [Robert] Pires and you felt like you were on the waltzers – he’s on the waltzers, Wan-Bissaka!
"He’s spinning everywhere. He hasn’t got a clue what’s going on in this game at the moment. But the play from Liverpool down that side is outstanding, and this is a different level for that lad to cope with."
Neville also took aim at Old Trafford chief Ed Woodward, labelling United's recruitment over the last few years as 'unforgivable'.
"I can’t believe the investment that’s been put into the squad in the last five, six, seven years and you end up with that out on the pitch," he said on his podcast.
"I saw a statistic two weeks ago that United have the second-highest wage bill in the world. And that’s the squad they’ve got. It’s unforgivable. It really is.
"I can’t change the ownership of Manchester United , no one can.
"But I’m struggling to understand why the ownership have persisted in trusting that management team to oversee the building of a Premier League title-winning team since Sir Alex Ferguson left.
"Because if you don’t lose your job for essentially overseeing that investment, that wage bill, and putting that team out on the pitch then I have to say something is really wrong."
