Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher make Morgan Gibbs-White point after Nottingham Forest bid

Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher believe Wolves should accept Nottingham Forest's offer for Morgan Gibbs-White.

The 22-year-old has been centre of attention this summer after a highly impressive loan stint with Sheffield United last season. Forest have been persistent with their approach but Wanderers have resisted thus far.

Wolves rejected £25million plus £10m in add-ons last week from the Reds amid claims that it was their 'final' bid. But conversations are said to remain ongoing, though boss Bruno Lage has made it clear that he values the youngster at £50m.

On rebuffing the bid, Lage said: "We reject because he is important and the way he is working shows he’s happy. When we have this connection between the player and all his teammates, we want the player with us. He is fit and motivated to do his best game.

"Now, since the first day, I see a top player. When I want to find a player like him, I need to spend £50m."

Meanwhile, Neville and Carragher both suggested Wolves have been foolish to not accept the latest offer from Forest. Neville said on Instagram: "Wolves have turned down a bid from Nottingham Forest for £35 million for Morgan Gibbs-White. He doesn’t get a game, does he?"

While Carragher responded: "He doesn’t play, no. Everton put a bid in earlier in the window, I think. I’d take that if I was Wolves."

The 22-year-old is set to play a key role for Lage this season, having already featured the full 90 minutes in the Leeds defeat last weekend. However, it is proving rather difficult for Wolves to tie Gibbs-White to Molineux with a contract extension.

His current deal is set to run out in 2024.
