Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher agree on where Manchester United will finish in the Premier League

Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher both predict Manchester United will finish the Premier League season inside the top four.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer 's side sit third in the table at Christmas with a game in hand following their 6-2 drubbing of Leeds United at the weekend.

That victory continued United's seven-game unbeaten run, leaving them one point behind second-placed Leicester City, having played one game fewer after their delayed start to the season.

Three points in their game in hand would leave United only two behind champions Liverpool, which was unthinkable after they took three points from their opening three league matches.

In the final Monday Night Football of the season, both Neville and Carragher were asked for their title and top four predictions.

Despite key injuries, both pundits said Liverpool would win the league, with City and United making up the top three.

“I said they were going to at the start of the season," Neville said about the possibility of Liverpool winning the league. "That moment around Villa, Van Dijk getting injured, I thought that it could be interesting but they’ve settled down.

"They’ll have bumps, they didn’t have them last season, but I’ll think they’ll definitely get there.”

Speaking about the rest of the top four, Neville continued: “I think City and United will definitely finish in the top three. I think it will be Chelsea or Tottenham and it’s the flip of a coin.”

Carragher agreed: “I think United will [finish in the top four], their attacking power is just fantastic, you look at the bench at the weekend, they have a really strong squad and you always fancy them to score goals in games.

"I think they will be there or thereabouts.”
