Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher agree on Liverpool title prediction

Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher have both predicted Liverpool will win the Premier League title this season.

The Reds top the table at Christmas despite a mass of injuries during the first 14 matches of the campaign.

Liverpool hold a four-point cushion over Leicester City after beating Crystal Palace 7-0 on Saturday, despite the continued absence of Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez.

Since being beaten by Aston Villa, Liverpool haven't lost in 10 league matches whilst also coping with a hectic schedule.

In the final Monday Night Football of the year, both Neville and Carragher were asked for their title and top four predictions for the season.

Despite key injuries, both pundits opted for Liverpool as Premier League champions, whilst Manchester City and Manchester United made up both of their top three.

“I said they were going to at the start of the season," Neville said about Liverpool's title credentials.

"That moment around Villa, Van Dijk getting injured, I thought that it could be interesting but they’ve settled down.

"They’ll have bumps, they didn’t have them last season, but I’ll think they’ll definitely get there.”

Speaking about the rest of the top-four, Neville continued: “I think City and United will definitely finish in the top three.

"I think it will be Chelsea or Tottenham and it’s the flip of a coin.”

Carragher agreed: “I think United will, their attacking power is just fantastic, you look at the bench at the weekend, they have a really strong squad and you always fancy them to score goals in games.

"I think they will be there or thereabouts.”
