Gary Mullen & The Works doing One Night of Queen at Hamilton Park Racecourse for Saints & Sinners

Hamilton Park Racecourse is preparing for its biggest charity night of the year.

Saints & Sinners Racenight is this year sponsored by Indigo Unified Comms, and takes place on Thursday, June 27.

And the venue makes a donation to Saints & Sinners Club of Scotland charity for every ticket sold.

Saints & Sinners Club of Scotland raise money and donate regular grants to over 120 small charities, awarding them £1000 each.

Now in its 55th year, the historic racenight is one of the club’s main annual fundraising events.

Philip Martin, race convenor at Saints & Sinners Club of Scotland, said: “We’re delighted to be hosting our hugely successful annual fundraiser at Hamilton Park Racecourse again this year.

“The donations we make to the Scottish charities are often vital income, so simply by purchasing your admission ticket and coming along, you’re showing your support.”

Jack Geddes, marketing and fundraising manager at Glasgow City Mission, added: “The donation we receive from Saints & Sinners helps us ensure that we continue to provide a welcoming, caring environment for people to come to.

“It ensures that we can provide food and practical support, plus a comprehensive daytime activities programme.

“Finally, it means we can provide a qualified staff team, equipped to help people facing a range of complex issues and distressing life situations.

“It is only with the help of organisations like Saints & Sinners that we have been able to do this for nearly 200 years.”

The evening’s opening race is the £7600 Saints & Sinners Amateur Riders Handicap Stakes which is open to amateur jockeys competing for The Saints & Sinners Challenge Cup.

To finish the evening, tribute band Gary Mullen & The Works will be sure to get racegoers rocking to their world-renowned One Night of Queen show.

Vivien Currie, chief executive at Hamilton Park, said: “We’re gearing up for another busy Saints & Sinners Racenight.

“The racenight has become legendary in the local area and there are many ways to show your support on the night including the popular raffle or by wearing a red or white carnation.

“It’s the perfect way to start your weekend early with family, friends or colleagues whilst helping worthwhile causes.”
