Gary McAllister 'will be in Rangers dugout' for Celtic clash after brutal street attack

Gary McAllister is set to take his place in the Rangers dugout at Parkhead after recovering from a brutal street attack - according to a report.

The Ibrox No.2 is believed to have lost three teeth and required 12 stitches as he was set upon by a man alleged to be brandishing a knuckleduster while on a night out in Leeds.

McAllister was waiting for a taxi with wife Haley when the assault took place in the early hours of Sunday morning.

But, according to The Scottish Sun , the 54-year-old will be in his usual position alongside boss Steven Gerrard for a decisive derby showdown against Celtic this coming Sunday.

It's reported the former Scotland returned to Rangers' training ground for the first time since the incident on Wednesday.

Record Sport exclusively revealed on Wednesday Liverpool are keen to strike while the iron is hot and have slapped a hefty fee, understood to be £8-10million, on the 22-year-old.

Kent is due to return to his parent club at the end of the campaign and it looks unlikely that he will be able to return to Ibrox.
