Aberdeen star Gary Mackay-Steven admits he faces the “toughest decision” of his career this summer.
The winger is a free agent and weighing up a switch to MLS outfit New York City – but has also revealed he could yet sign new terms at Pittodrie.
Mackay-Steven insisted he would inform Derek McInnes of any decision first out of respect for his club manager.
He said: “It is going to be a massive decision and the toughest of my career.
“I’m 28 and there are a lot of things I need to weigh up. You take what is on the table and weigh up things.
“With regards to New York or anything, I have not been one to get my head swayed.
“I will sit down with my agent and my family next week and see what offers are on the table. I’ve not put an awful lot of thought into it.

“The manager will be the first to know what happens. He’s not given me a deadline as we’ve not spoken an awful lot but we’ll definitely sit down and see what’s available.
“Nothing has been sorted or decided yet. It’s not going to be an easy decision either way.”
But with his future still to up in the air the former Dundee United and Celtic player confessed he has not ruled out staying where he loves his work.

Mackay-Steven said: “I have been happy here, I’ve had a great two years. I love working with the manager and my team-mates. It’s a great place to be.
“I have not ruled out staying but I’ve not ruled out anything. I need to think about a lot of things but the possibility of staying is still there.
“There are a number of things to consider. I want to be enjoying my football and at the age I’m at it needs to be right for me and my family.
“With the new stadium and training ground in the offing it’s a big factor and one that I’ll definitely take into consideration.”
