Gary Lineker trolls Arsenal with brilliant tweet about Liverpool's Invincibles run ending

Gary Lineker was quick off the mark following the end of Liverpool's bid to match Arsenal's Invincibles season of 2003/04.

Liverpool's unbeaten run was finally ended on Saturday evening in one of the most unlikely of venues, as 19th-placed Watford secured their first win since New Year's Day.

Two goals from Ismaila Sarr and another from Watford captain Troy Deeney sealed a memorable 3-0 win for Nigel Pearson's side, who moved out of the relegation zone on goal difference thanks to the win.

The Reds have not performed well since the end of the winter break, with a loss against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League sandwiched by narrow wins over relegation battlers Norwich and West Ham.

The win for Watford seals Arsenal's achievement as the only ever unbeaten team in the Premier League, despite Liverpool already having won more games this season than the Gunners did in the historic year.

Jurgen Klopp's side had won 26 of 27 games ahead of the game against Watford, with a draw against Manchester United their only match not resulting in three points for Liverpool.

And though Arsenal fans were quick to celebrate their unbeaten record lasting another yet another season, Gary Lineker had his own message about just how well things are currently going for the Gunners.

Arsenal currently sit 10th in the table following Saturday's round of Premier League fixtures, and will not be back in action in the league until next Saturday, with an FA Cup fifth round tie against Portsmouth on Monday.

They currently trail fifth-place Manchester United (who play on Sunday afternoon) by four points, and are a further four behind fourth-place Chelsea.
