Gary Lineker shares brilliant Match of the Day video message Arsenal and Leeds fans will love

Match of the Day presenter Gary Lineker has revealed the running order for tonight's programme despite Arsenal's trip to Leeds United being the only game not to be postponed.

Manchester United vs Brentford, Aston Villa vs Burnley, Southampton vs Brentford, Watford vs Crystal Palace and West Ham vs Norwich were all postponed at various stages of the past week due to outbreaks of Covid-19.

Sunday's match between Everton and Leicester has also been called off.

But the Gunners have managed to steer clear of outbreaks so far and so have Leeds, meaning the evening clash at Elland Road is still set to go ahead.

On Friday, Mikel Arteta addressed his pre-match press conference on the latest Covid situation at the Emirates, saying: "We are good. We are waiting for more tests which we’ll have this afternoon. This is the only thing we can do, wait and see."

He was then asked whether or not Premier League matches should be going ahead at all with so many games falling to the wayside.

"We need more clarity on why those games are not being played and what you need to not play a game so we all play in the same league, because at the end of the day we all play in the same league," he said.

"Because at the end the most important thing is that we are able to maintain, within this context, the fairness of the competition. For me this is a big thing now."

Lineker usually reveals the running order for the beloved BBC programme in a video on Twitter after all the games have finished.

But given the unique circumstances of today, he was able to release the 'running order' much earlier than is customary.

"Hello there, I've got the Match of the Day running order for you," he said in the latest video.

"As usual, I will probably give some scores away. Well there's only one game... so I'll give the score away. But that game's not kicked off yet.

"I know it's unusual to give the running order before all the games have been played but there's only one game. So we're going to start Match of the Day this week with Leeds United versus Arsenal.

"And last on the running order this week, is Leeds United against Arsenal. So we'll show Leeds United against Arsenal tonight after the news on BBC One, and I'll have Martin Keown and Danny Murphy to talk about Leeds and Arsenal.

"And hopefully you'll join us, because Leeds and Arsenal could be a really good game."
