Gary Lineker says Dominic Calvert-Lewin's England call-up is thoroughly deserved.
The former Everton star made his feelings on Calvert-Lewin's form known earlier in the day when he tweeted that the Toffees striker deserved a place in the England squad.
Lineker's views were rewarded when Gareth Southgate named the free-scoring star in his England squad for the first time, along with maiden call-ups for Bakayo Saka at Arsenal and Harvey Barnes at Leicester City.
The Match of the Day host said all three call-ups were richly-deserved.
Having previously played for England under-21s, this is the 23-year-old's first call-up to England's senior squad - and it has delighted Everton fans.

The Toffees star will get three opportunities to make his England debut, with Gareth Southgate's side having a hectic week of matches.
England host Wales in a friendly on Thursday, which is quickly followed by Nations League ties with Belgium and Denmark.
Calvert-Lewin said the call-up as a realisation of a lifelong dream.
"I'm a very, very proud man to get this first England call," he said.
"I phoned my mum and my dad, and my mum burst into tears.
"It's something we've spoken about since I was a young boy.
"To get here now and get the call-up is a dream come true. I'm very happy."
England boss Gareth Southgate praised the striker's form over the last 18 months.
Southgate said: "Dominic is a player whose all-round game we have liked for some time.
"What he's added over the last 18 months is goals and for a striker that's critical.
"He's in a rich vein of form. He thoroughly deserves his opportunity."
