Gary Lineker says what Leeds United fans may be thinking after Manchester United thrashing

Gary Lineker has summed up what some Leeds United fans may be fearing about their side following the defeat to Manchester United.

The Whites have impressed in the Premier League from an aesthetic point of view. Nobody can claim Leeds are not good to watch, but sometimes it may come at the expense of picking up key points in the fight for survival.

Leeds had endured a rough run before they smashed Newcastle 5-2 last week, only to suffer their own humiliation at Old Trafford.

Scott McTominay bagged two goals in the first three minutes before Bruno Fernandes found the back of the net and Victor Lindelof made it 4-0 on 37 minutes.

Why can't Leeds defend set pieces?

Liam Cooper pulled a goal back for Marcelo Bielsa's men just before the break but the Red Devils' dominance resumed in the second half with an effort from James and Fernandes' second goal, while Stuart Dallas provided mere consolation with his side's second of the evening.

The result led to Lineker posting that whilst Leeds are thoroughly entertaining due to the way they approach the game, he believes their set-up means opponents love playing against them.

"Leeds are really fun to watch, but they’re even more fun to play against," Lineker tweeted.

Meanwhile, whilst these comments may be true, Reds' boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer insists his side had to be switched on throughout.

He told Sky Sports: “You had to earn the right to win it by running as much or even more as them. Leeds are one of the fittest teams in the league, so that will be interesting to see the stats. With the man-marking as well, there were a couple of movements that we worked on that worked at times.

"It could’ve or should have been 12-4. You know that no matter what the score is, they have a certain attitude and style that makes you have to work and concentrate every minute.”
