Gary Lineker risks reigniting Piers Morgan feud boasting he'd 'beat him in fight'

Gary Lineker reignited his feud with Piers Morgan and taunted the Good Morning Britain host by saying he would beat him in a fight.

The 59-year-old Match of the Day host has had a long-running war of words with 55-year-old Piers, but seems to want to take their arguments to the next level and make them physical.

The boys only just ended years of online arguments and jibes two months ago when Piers congratulated Gary for making a sizeable donation to the British Red Cross in April to help aid the fight against the coronavirus.

But the olive branch seems to have been snapped in half by Gary – who has revealed he would be up for a round of fisticuffs against his old rival.

Gary told The Sun: “I’m not a very good fighter but I’d definitely have him.”

The challenge comes just weeks after Gary taunted Piers over his apparent fall out with American President Donald Trump.

Gary pounced after President Trump unfollowed Piers on Twitter after the GMB star wrote an article for the Daily Mail slating the President’s handling of the coronavirus crisis in America.

Gary Tweeted at the time: ”I know it’s probably too soon. I know you thought he was a friend. I know your heart is breaking. I know how hurt you feel now. I know hard this is for you, but I know you will get through it.”

He added: “I know you won’t want to hear this: but you know you’ll be a better man without him."

Piers and Gary have a long history of poking fun at each other.

In October last year, former footballer Gary was asked by Lad Bible: “If you had to punch one famous person, who would you punch?”

Quick as a flash, Gaz replied: “Piers Morgan. I’d electrocute him as well, probably.”

Piers has railed Gary in the past too, mocking his past football career on Twitter and ridiculing him for the time he defecated himself on the pitch during the 1990 World Cup.
