Gary Lineker pokes fun at Arsenal with cruel joke to open Match of the Day

As if a fourth game without a win was not bad enough, Arsenal fans have got Gary Lineker on their backs now too.

The former Tottenham man and Match of the Day host is a big Leicester City fan.

And with the Foxes taking on and beating Arsenal on Saturday, it was a chance for Lineker to gloat.

Jamie Vardy and James Maddison bagged the goals for Leicester at the King Power Stadium to see off a sorry Arsenal side that mounts the pressure on head coach Unai Emery.

The 2-0 win took centre stage on Match of the Day on BBC One, with Liverpool and Manchester City not playing until Sunday, when they take on each other.

With Remembrance Sunday coming up, the show opened with the Last Post and pictures from around the grounds in the Premier League where poppy wreaths were laid.

But after that it was for Lineker to poke fun at Arsenal.

He said: "We begin with a genuine top-four contender...and Arsenal."

It is a joke which has some truth, given the Gunners are sixth in the table and eight points off the top four after a poor start to the season under Emery.

But it is a joke which will not go down well with the Arsenal supporters, who want to see changes made at the top of the club to change their fortunes around.
