Gary Lineker points out Liverpool goalkeeper mistake after Wolves win at Anfield

Caoimhin Kelleher's Premier League debut for Liverpool was pretty much a perfect one against Wolves on Sunday.

Well, almost.

After rising to prominence last week following the injury to Alisson Becker, the Irishman was assured and calm as he kept a clean sheet in the 1-0 win over Ajax in the Champions League on Tuesday.

He followed that up by again turning in a quietly impressive display as the Reds beat Wolves 4-0 on domestic duty on Sunday evening.

And while Kelleher probably spent much of the week having people asking how to both pronounce and spell his traditional Irish Christian name, he might have expected less difficulty with the surname.

No such luck though as the moniker apparently flummoxed Liverpool 's kit men in the build up to the game against Wolves.

Turning out for his first appearance in the top flight, Kelleher was excellent, even if the name on his back wasn't.

Comically, the Ireland Under-21 goalkeeper was missing the second E from his goalkeeper's shirt in a faux pas that was picked up on online.

The gaffe even made its way on to the Twitter timeline of Gary Lineker who just couldn't resist a comment.

"Lots of positives again for @LFC," tweeted the Match of the Day presenter. "Including an excellent display from their young keeper.

"Perhaps as a reward they could spell Kelleher correctly."

After a second successive clean sheet, Kelleher is likely to feature again this week when the Reds travel to Midtjylland in the Champions League on Wednesday.

And with the youngster preferred ahead of Adrian as Alisson's deputy, it would be no surprise to see him start at Fulham on Sunday afternoon too.

The Liverpool shot-stopper may be heartened to learn that such a misprint is no barrier to greatness, however.

Just ask former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard, who once took part in an LA Galaxy match with 'Gerrrad' on his shirt.

Or Javier Mascherano, who turned out for a game at Middlesbrough with the H curious by its absence in 2009.

Kelleher is certainly making a name for himself in the Liverpool team right now. However you are spelling it.
