Gary Lineker opens up on sex life and his split with second wife Danielle Bux

Former England star Gary Lineker has admitted he's "not massively into sex" in a revealing interview about his private life.

Lineker, 58, has been single since splitting up with his second wife, lingerie model Danielle Bux, back in 2016 and is still on the market.

The Match of the Day host reckons he is "incredibly fussy" but says he prefers a bit of flirting and nice dinner dates instead of getting into the bedroom.

The ex-England captain says he is not looking for a relationship at the moment but has enjoyed the occasional date since becoming single again three years ago.

"It’s a stupid and horrible thing to say in a way, but I’m not massively into sex," Lineker told the Times Magazine .

"I quite like flirting a little bit.

"Now that’s all I do. But then after that… This is really being honest: It’s like hard work.

"Going on a date and then, yes, come on, let’s do it. Do we really have to do all that? So I’ve hardly had any dates.

"I’ve had the odd one. But I’m straight right from the start. I say, 'I don’t want a relationship; a nice dinner’s fine'."

Lineker has four sons, aged between the ages of 27 and 22, with first wife Michelle Cockayne, who he married in 1986 and split with in 2006.

He married Danielle Bux, 19 years his junior, three years later but their marriage ended amicably in 2016.

Lineker has claimed she did not want to pressure him into having more children, and she has later welcomed a child with new boyfriend Nate Greenwald, with whom she lives in Los Angeles, in 2017.

Lineker added: "Obviously I would have done [had more children], but she said, 'It’s not fair on you'. Then I said, 'Well, I’d feel terrible if I stop you doing it'."

Lineker and Bux have remained friends, with the former footballer travelling back from last year's World Cup in Russia for a day to support her at her mother's funeral and also giving her new husband his seal of approval.
