Gary Lineker makes 'ridiculous' claim as Mohamed Salah breaks Liverpool record

Mohamed Salah can’t be kept out off the score sheet as he drew Liverpool level against AC Milan in the Champions League - making it his 20th strike of the season.

The Egyptian now has seven goals in the competition in just six matches after his first time shot was taken superbly to fire Liverpool’s equaliser in.

Salah, who many think has been the world’s best player this season, came in for much praise after he continues to impress.

VOTE NOW: Select your Liverpool Fans' Footballer of the Year for 2021

Liverpool’s number 11, who is up for the Fan’s Footballer of the Year award, could have been left at home for tonight’s match but the forward is relentless and he loves scoring goals.

The goal made Salah just the second player to score in seven successive Champions League away matches, after Cristiano Ronaldo did it for Real Madrid.

And that sealed a Reds record in the process - Salah having now scored more goals for Liverpool in a single Champions League group stage campaign [with 7] than any player in the club's history.

Gary Lineker praised the Egyptian as he tweeted: “Another goal for the brilliant and ridiculously consistent Mo Salah. What a player.”

Former Celtic boss Neil Lennon also compared Salah to one of the greatest players ever in Lionel Messi : “He's the closest player I've seen to Lionel Messi.”
