Gary Lineker makes point about Trent Alexander-Arnold many Liverpool fans will agree with

Gary Lineker has heaped praise on Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold following his stunning first-half free-kick against Chelsea.

Alexander-Arnold scored his second free-kick of the Premier League season as the Reds went into a 2-0 lead at Anfield following Naby Keita’s opener.

The right-back, who played his youth days as a central midfielder, has often been spoken about as a potential midfield player for the future.

This is something that Lineker clearly agrees with, claiming the 21-year-old is “almost too good for his position”.

Alexander-Arnold’s goals aren’t the only thing that he’s been receiving plaudits for in Liverpool’s title-winning season.

The defender set up his 13th goal of the campaign this evening, as he crossed the ball to Roberto Firmino to score his first league goal at Anfield of the season.

The cross was Alexander-Arnold’s 13th Premier League assist of the season, breaking his own record - set during the last campaign - for most assists by a defender in a single season of the competition.
