Gary Lineker has heaped praise on Liverpool youngster Curtis Jones.
The midfielder produced a fine performance in the Reds' 2-1 victory over Spurs, helping his side dominate possession before Roberto Firmino's late goal sealed the three points.
It continued the 19-year-old's excellent form so far this season as he has cemented a regular spot in Jurgen Klopp's starting XI.
His performance earned praise from Match of the Day host Lineker, who talked up Jones' potential on social media.
Lineker tweeted: "What a lovely footballer Curtis Jones is. Gonna be a helluva player."
Plenty of Reds fans responded to Lineker in agreement.
"Scary thing is, he is even better than what he is showing at the moment," one replied. "He is doing what all young players do initially, bowing to the more senior players on occasion.
"But once he starts to actually feel he belongs in the team you watch him go! His range of passing is ridiculous."
Another added: "Deserves his place in the side."
A third fan said: "Definitely modelled himself on Steven Gerrard. He's a special young talent."
Post-match, Amazon Prime pundit - and Lineker's Match of the Day colleague - Alan Shearer also talked up Jones' performance.
Shearer heaped praise on both Jones and teammate Rhys Williams for the way they handled the pressure in a tense top-of-the-table clash.
He said: "We’ve mentioned the two young boys and I’m gonna mention them again, I make no apologies for that.
"For two 19-year-olds to come in and perform the way they did, under pressure, with big boots to fill, and they never missed anyone tonight."
