Gary Lineker has lavished praise on Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold by making a bold claim about the star's international future.
The Reds' full-back was on fine form again for his club side on Monday, providing two assists as Liverpool came from behind to beat West Ham 3-2.
Alexander-Arnold crossed for Georginio Wijnaldum to open the scoring, before later setting up Sadio Mane's winner.
Liverpool's official Twitter account celebrated Alexander-Arnold's performance after the match, pointing to his record of being the only defender to amass 12 assists in a Premier League season, which he has now done twice in succession.
But the youngster's achievement did not surprise BT and BBC Sport presenter Lineker, who tipped Alexander-Arnold for even greater feats.
Responding to Liverpool's post on Twitter, Lineker wrote: "Said it for a long time, he’s gonna be one of this country’s greatest ever players."
It is not the first time Lineker has made such a claim about the 21-year-old, who he believes will eventually change position.
Speaking to the BBC in August, Lineker said: "He's certainly a full-back I'd have loved to play with in my day. In the modern day the full-back has to be really good going forward, and I think he's very special.
"His passing range is as good as any midfield player. He'll probably end up in midfield. I think he's too good to be a full-back.
"I just think he's the most exciting young footballer we've got around and of all the brilliant talent we've got, I'll be surprised if any of them end up better than him."
Alexander-Arnold was given the Man of the Match award after the victory over West Ham, and revealed how boss Jurgen Klopp's tactics enabled him to play to his full potential.
"Not every game is the same," Alexander-Arnold told Sky Sports. "The opposition set up differently, meaning there is different tactics we have to do.
"But the manager gives us freedom, he understands the players' qualities. That's massive for us. It gives us that freedom to go and express ourselves as much as possible.
"We are an attacking side. We want to create chances and be scoring goals, be hurting opponents. The best way of that is to get players forward and create as many chances as possible."
