Gary Lineker makes big Liverpool prediction for Trent Alexander-Arnold

Former England striker Gary Lineker has made a bold prediction for Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold, as the full-back continues his remarkable rise.

The 20-year-old has been a key part of Liverpool 's push for Premier League glory, contributing 11 assists, and earned plaudits for his quick thinking in the Champions League triumph over Barcelona, providing the pass for Divock Origi's winning goal.

Already capped five times by England and featuring in last summer's World Cup in Russia, the sky is the limit for the Liverpool academy graduate and Lineker is tipping him for big things.

In a post on Twitter, Lineker revealed he believes Alexander-Arnold will wear the armband for Liverpool as well as his national side in the future.

His comments came after Alexander-Arnold revealed his ambition of captaining the club in an clip posted on Liverpool's social media accounts.

"I always wanted to become a Liverpool player, the aim is to hopefully one day become the Liverpool captain," he said.

"I've got that self-belief in myself that I can do it and hopefully I'll be able to do that."
