In a New Year message of sorts, Lineker hailed Arsenal's Reiss Nelson, Chelsea's Mason Mount, Tammy Abraham, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Reece James plus Spurs' Ryan Sessegnon.

Lineker also threw West Ham United's Declan Rice into the mix and Jadon Sancho, who has heavily been linked with Chelsea ahead of the January transfer window.

Lineker tweeted: "Never felt more bullish about England's future: Trent, Wan-Bissaka, Foden, Mount, Greenwood, Rashford, Rice, Maddison, James, Gomez, Barnes, Sancho, Longstaff, Abraham, Hudson-Odoi, Nelson, Chilwell, Sessegnon...and more. Won’t all crack it, but what an array of talent. HNY."

It's safe to say that 2020 will be bright for England.
