Gary Lineker hailed Man City's victory over PSG as one of the best away performances by an English side in European football.
City came from behind to beat 10-man PSG 2-1 thanks to goals from Kevin de Bruyne and Riyad Mahrez in a scintillating game of football.
After City fell behind early on after a period of PSG pressure, it looked like they would be in for a tough night in Paris, but they put in a superb second-half performance to nullify any opposition threat and turn the game on its head.
It means the tie is now in City's hands going into next week's second leg and Lineker was full of praise for the performance.
He tweeted: "That was one of the best performances, in an away leg, by an English side in the history of European football.
"Absolutely outstanding from Man City."
Lineker tweeted his thoughts throughout the game, praising the quality of the match as it ebbed and flowed throughout a thrilling contest.
"This is a sensational game of football played at breakneck speed," he said during the first half.
"PSG have been absolutely superb so far. As good as I've ever seen them play. Long way to go, though."
He later added: "This is proper football. Great teams, wonderful players, stunningly competitive. Fantastic stuff."
Yet, as City turned the game around, Lineker also paid tribute to the performance of Pep Guardiola's side.
"Man City have been outstanding in the second half," he said after De Bruyne's equaliser.
He later added jokingly: "If Man City had a centre-forward they'd be quite a good side."
