Gary Lineker has lauded Manchester City's Premier League dominance after Arsenal's defeat secured Pep Guardiola's fifth winners' medal in six years.
Former Liverpool striker Taiwo Awoniyi scored the only goal of the game to secure the win for Nottingham Forest as the Gunners succumb to their second straight defeat after slipping up against Brighton & Hove Albion last weekend. City will kick-off against Chelsea tomorrow already as champions as a result of the loss for the North London side.
The Reds finished runners-up in last season's Premier League title race as they took the Citizens to the wire and came marginally close to winning their 20th top-flight crown until Aston Villa's collapse handed Pep Guardiola a then-second straight title.

Looking ahead, a big summer is in the offing for the Reds as they look set to bolster their ranks in the transfer market. But Lineker believes the Manchester side are at the peak of their dominance and it won't change until Guardiola departs.

This campaign has been far from what Liverpool have to come to expect in recent seasons. A matter of months after chasing an unprecedented quadruple, they find themselves with faint hopes of breaking into the Champions League next season.
They need Manchester United to lose both of their final two fixtures in order to have a chance of snatching the fourth and final spot for elite European qualification.
