Gary Lineker explains why Liverpool will concede way more goals than they did last season

Gary Lineker says Liverpool are destined to concede more goals this season because they've been playing with such a high line.

But the Match of the Day host added that Jurgen Klopp's Reds will probably still outscore their opponents each week, making for great viewing.

Liverpool have won all three of their opening Premier League fixtures, but have been uncharacteristically sloppy at the back so far this season.

The Reds conceded three times in their opening day win over newly-promoted Leeds and twice against League One outfit Lincoln City in their 7-2 victory in the Carabao Cup.

On Monday, Liverpool recorded another victory against Arsenal, making it three wins in three from their opening fixtures in the top flight.

The Reds had to come from behind against Arsenal following another defensive mistake, this time from Andy Robertson.

Lineker took to Twitter while the game was being played, pointing out Liverpool's high line will result in many more goals conceded this season compared to last.

But explained why Reds supporters shouldn't be too concerned.

"If Liverpool continue to play such a high line, and actually moving forward when there's no pressure on the ball, then they'll concede way more than last season," Lineker tweeted.

"They will probably still out score the opposition and will be great to watch but."
