Gary Lineker reckons Harry Kane bought his penalty for Tottenham Hotspur against Brighton & Hove Albion.
Yet the Match of the Day host argued that players have no choice but to go down easily until referees start giving penalties when fouls are committed in the box but the attacker stays on their feet.
Spurs star Kane went down after colliding with Adam Lallana and was awarded the penalty, despite some arguing that the striker had initiated the foul by allowing the Brighton midfielder to jump over him.
Writing on Twitter, Lineker said he thought Kane had bought the foul and that it was not a penalty.
He said: "Thought Harry Kane bought that one.
"Just backed into [Adam] Lallana and also not convinced it was inside the box."
After Leandro Trossard appeared to be felled by Matt Doherty in the box, Lineker argued that it was more of a penalty than Kane's, despite it not being given.
Former Spurs striker Lineker also said that going down easily is understandable when players are not given penalties after staying on their feet.
He said: "If the Kane one was a penalty, the Trossard one was more so."
Lineker went on to add: "Worth pointing out that British players are just as culpable as foreign players when it comes to throwing themselves to the ground if someone flicks an eyelash at them in the box.
"Will remain the case until penalties are given when players are fouled but stay upright regardless."
Kane gave Spurs the lead from the spot before Tariq Lamptey equalised.
Yet Gareth Bale's first goal since returning to Spurs earned Jose Mourinho's side victory.
