Gary Lineker has blasted Talksport presenter Adrian Durham's comments on Dennis Bergkamp as "disrespectful, clueless claptrap" after he questioned the Dutchman's legacy at Arsenal.
The legendary Dutch forward remains a popular figure for Arsenal fans after helping the Gunners to three Premier League titles and four FA Cup successes during his 11 years at the club, with Bergkamp having a statue outside the Emirates Stadium in recognition of his efforts.
Bergkamp was a member of Arsenal's 'Invincibles' side too, with the Gunners going the whole of the 2003-04 season unbeaten in the Premier League.
But Durham has questioned whether the Dutchman was really that good for Arsenal, with the Talksport host not including Bergkamp in his list of the five best Dutch players in the Premier League era.
Durham said: "If [Dennis] Bergkamp was that good, why didn't Arsenal win the Champions League, or back-to-back titles?
"He never scored 20 goals in a season in the Premier League for Arsenal. And he was there over 10 years. That's not good."
His comments prompted plenty of responses from angered Arsenal fans, while former Gunners midfielder Cesc Fabregas took to social media to hit out at Durham over his opinion.

"Is this guy serious? Lost the plot big time there," Fabregas tweeted.
"If you don't think Bergkamp was that good, then you don't understand this sport at all."
And Fabregas has been backed up by the host of BBC programme Match of the Day, Gary Lineker, who has also taken to social media to criticise what Durham has said.
In a tweet responding to Fabregas, the former Leicester City, Tottenham and Barcelona striker said: "Disrespectful clueless claptrap...from the fella, not you Cesc."
Durham has been criticised by plenty of fans on social media for his opinion, but he has responded to a number of fans to explain his top five, with the Talksport host responding to one fan to say Bergkamp was "superb", but not in his top five, which included Edwin van der Sar, Virgil van Dijk, Arjen Robben, Jaap Stam and Ruud van Nistelrooy.
