Gary Kubiak says Garrett Bradbury will start at center

The Vikings drafted offensive lineman Garrett Bradbury with their first-round pick with hopes to bolster what was an inconsistent offensive line in 2018.

Bradbury will play center, and Vikings offensive advisor Gary Kubiak said that Bradbury will start there.

“Oh yeah, that is where he’s going to be, and hopefully he will stay there for a long time,” Kubiak said via the Star Tribune.

That doesn’t come as a huge surprise. Bradbury has impressed in OTAs and Pat Elflein has said he’s comfortable moving to guard.

With Bradbury at center, Elflein and Josh Kline at guard, and Riley Reiff and Brian O’Neill at tackle, this unit seems improved on paper.

The team also has some depth after drafting guard Dru Samia in the fourth round. Most think Samia will eventually become a starting-caliber player.

It feels like a lot of the success of this team will depend on how the offensive line will do. A lot of that starts with how Bradbury is as a rookie.
